For 10 days each year, our mountain town of Park City, UT is thrust into the spotlight for the world-renowned Sundance Film Festival. With celebrities and VIPs alike finding themselves shuffling through the snow to get to the film premieres, exclusive parties, and numerous events- our hotel was faced with a question:
How does the Waldorf Astoria Park City outshine our competitors during this spotlight time?
We decided that the hotel should be known what for what we do best: providing True Waldorf Service. We wanted to focus on our Guests, not providing concerts and having people flock to our doors for events – but making sure each and every guest had an exceptional and special time.
How did we achieve this?
Waldorf Astoria Park City ensured that all guests, VIP or not, had a great stay through our amenity program, specialized turn down cards acknowledging the festival, a custom in-room dining menu, and through professional and kind interactions from our employees. The marketing team compiled turn down cards that welcomed each guest to the hotel on the first day, followed on the next several days by turn down cards that mixed film festival facts with must-try recommendations such as our restaurant’s special Sundance menu.
Waldorf Astoria Park City also acknowledged that due to the festival, our guests would be out late attending premieres or events. With that recognition, we created an “As the Sun Goes Down” in-room dining menu to be placed in all guest rooms for the festival.
This menu was available from 11 pm – 2 am to ensure that our Guests had everything they needed – no matter what the hour.
We are pleased to report that our guests have expressed gratitude in regards to their privacy at the hotel and great Waldorf experience. From the chatter on social media to the personalized thank you during check out – we are proud to flawlessly serve our guests by going above and beyond. It may have been a crazy time for our town of Park City, but Waldorf Astoria Park City rose to the occasion through preparation and some outside-the-box thinking.
