Introducing: Frostoria

Our newest dining experience, Frostoria debuted January 2020!

Experience a fun, casual, leisurely dining adventure within a faux igloo. During your evening you’re invited to enjoy board games, sip on your choice of drink, read, step outside to stargaze, or simply enjoy the company of family and friends. Wine and handcrafted cocktails are available to accompany the select, family-style menu. The igloos provide an “outdoor living room” of sorts that allows guests to enjoy the snowfall and glow of the mountains from the comfort of a heated, clear  igloo.

Located on the pool deck, the igloos are decorated in a cozy, comfortable feel with plush blankets, lounge chairs, sofa and a chandelier. Each Frostoria igloo fits up to six guests!

Frostoria dining is available daily between 4PM–8PM. Reservations 24 hours in advance are required.

Meet the Chef

Waldorf Astoria Park City welcomes Executive Chef Hermann Schaefer to Powder. Chef Hermann was previously the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage at Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa before joining us in the mountains. Hailing from Austria, Chef grew up working and living on the site of his family’s restaurant and winery. The family operation has grown into the largest organic fruit juice company in Europe, still owned and operated by the Schaefer family.

Sustainability

Powder restaurant is a proud partner in Utah Green Business Association. Our variety of sustainability practices include:

  • 95% plastic free
    • Plastic straws have been replaced with recyclable paper straws
    • To-go containers are made of 100% recyclable materials
  • Meats, cheeses and vegetables are purchased through local farms
  • Two beehives are located on the hotel grounds to supply local honey
  • Work with local company, Wild Harvest Farms, to compost fruits, vegetables, eggshells, newspaper and more
